There’s ONE LEGACY WEST and then there’s LEGACY WEST!

So what’s the difference between ONE LEGACY WEST and LEGACY WEST?

Maybe the easiest analogy is LEGACY WEST developed by Fehmi Karahan is the ‘Mother Ship’ and ONE LEGACY WEST is a 327,856 square foot office project which is being developed by the GAEDEKE GROUP is one of it’s satellites.

And unless you’re new to the area The Karahan Companies was the originator of what we now call the urban village concept having developed the Shops At Legacy starting around 2005.

By media write ups the $2 Billion LEGACY WEST is usually acknowledged to be where LIBERTY MUTUAL’s 4000  employee $325 Million campus  will be in Plano.  Liberty Mutual’s move is being spearheaded by David Long CEO of Liberty Mutual  who notes this will be the firms first major move out of the Northeast.

Overall the developer KDC will take 22 months to build the urban village Legacy West and the two 19 story Liberty Mutual office towers  located at DNT between Legacy and SH 121 with Headquarters Drive @ DNT being the main ingress/egress into Legacy West.

Additionally, another RESTAURANT ROW is being launched within the Legacy West development.  So between the Shops At Legacy and Legacy West whatever food fare one might want should be within a 5 mile radius of Legacy Dr and DNT.

And rounding out the Legacy West development will be a new 30 story luxury condo apartment tower to be called Windrose Tower at Legacy West.  The location of Windrose Tower at Legacy West will be between Toyota  and Liberty Mutual’s new office campuses and just across the street from the $400 million Legacy West urban village.

Also for those visitors or business travelers the Sam Moon Group is building a new luxury The Renaissance Hotel at the NW corner of DNT and Legacy Dr.

TAKEAWAY:  Terry and I have lived in a lot of major cities of the United States over the last 27 years including Seattle and New York City and I have to say Legacy West is going to be like a major metro city but still actually be in the middle of the BURBS!
