Cadillac & Bon Appetite Event at The Shops at Legacy?

This event was a couple of weeks ago during the heat wave on a Sunday afternoon. So please excuse for the late posting on this.   All in all, it was a great event except for the weather which did effect the turnout but the cooking demos were packed .  The two chefs dueling were Kent Rathbun from our beloved Jasper’s in Plano and Scott Gottlich of Bijoux and Lola.  The hostess  was Mary Nolan of “Chic & Easy” from Food Network fame.

The menu was a avocado and goat cheese sope vs a lemon goat cheese and blueberry crepe with nitrogen infused lemon sauce.  Very Sweet indeed!  I really didn’t know what a sope (pronounced soap-pa) was and neither did the audience – Wanna guess? It’s a mesa fried tart that is simply out of this world and the avocado goat cheese mixture was divine, great appetizer….check the photos below and since I was on the judging panel the avocado sope won! But both were delicious!
