Plano Water Zone Map Starts August 19th

Here's the watering schedule for Plano starting August 19th.  Right now we're in stage one which is conservation on our part.  Did you know watering your lawn is prohibited between 10 AM & 6 PM.?  I see sprinklers going off all day, really just common sense.  Any way, here's the link to a larger map if you need it, compliments of the City of Plano.

I guess it's better to have partly cloudy skies then the sun beating down your brain.  Welcome to a very early summer heat wave in North Texas, it's brutal!  I don't have to tell you, I know.  Best for buyers to shop early in the day before the heat just settles in.  It's does put a damper on real estate activity....just waiting for a little cooler temperatures and that dang humidity to let up some.  Be patient and do a rain dance, I hope we're not turning into Phoenix!

Plano Safest City in America


Well, we finally made a Forbes list.

This was based on populations of 250,000 and includes data from reported police reports and traffic accidents.  Plano was the only Texas city on the list.  The article depicts Plano as:

"residents of this wealthy Dallas suburb enjoy the lowest violent crime rate of all big American cities, and have a much lower rate of fatal car crashes. In fact, this "All-American City" tops our list of America's Safest Cities.

If you live in Plano I know you'll find this true or at least I hope you do: Plano is safe, secure, has great schools & wonderful city services compared to Dallas.  I attribute the red light cameras to less traffic accidents. Yes, there is one more reason to make Plano home.

Looking for a Labor Day Event....
If you plan on being around Plano on Sunday, this could be a great place to be.  This photo is courtesy of the Shops at Legacy email newsletter announcing the first ever Labor Day Event.  If you've been to the free summer concerts and the Christmas festivals (word has it - they will have again this year) you know they put on first class events.  And this is no exception, Nastia Liukin will be signing autographs as well other celebrities and it all starts at high noon till 6:00PM on the north side of the Shops at Legacy fountains. Best of all proceeds of tickets sales for activities will be donated to Children's Medical Center.  Lots of live music and activities for the whole family. I know when you're looking for home - crime statistics usually comes up in the conversation. Here's a new site that reports community crimes in real time. The Plano police department is hooked in and you get a comprehensive crime story of a particular area.  Sounds like a possible Law and Order episode...

What is it?  It's a crime mapping tool, that's well, pretty cool. Check out crime reports here.  You can enter you location or zip code and see the reports first hand.  You can click on any icon and see the incident, for example:

• T=Theft
• B=Breaking and Entering
• A=Assault

You can find out all reported crime types and sex offenders too. Click on the map and it will take you to area 75093.  This is definitely a site to bookmark and see what's going on in your "hood". And really good for researching an area before you buy a home.
