It’s no surprise Plano is one of the Top 10 Healthiest Cities in America chosen by Time Magazine. I’ve been a resident for 21 years and Plano just keeps getting better.
If you didn’t know Plano neighborhoods are built around parks and recreation areas. Most importantly, Plano has an exemplary school system. That’s another reason families are attracted to the area.
Plano is also safe which attributes to well being. The article explains that Plano Police Department and well connected communities make Plano a place of well being. Add the parks and recreation perks and Plano is one the top 10 healthiest cities in America.
Impressive, yes.
Another impressive quality of Plano is it’s diversity. That also helped Plano make the list.

Even though many neighborhoods are governed by HOA’s and have private parks, most communities have a public park close to each neighborhood.

Healthy Living in Plano
There are many other reasons Plano has a healthy lifestyle. Private and public golf courses, fine dining, healthy shopping and farmers markets are included.
Horseback riding in East Plano as well as acreage properties for sale. And yes, it’s affordable. Plano has grown up from the small suburban sprawl it was just a few years ago.
It’s actually called an urban area which I find quite interesting. When I first moved to West Plano it was considered too far out, kind of what Prosper is now.
And now it’s one of the top 10 healthiest cities in America! Who knew! So glad I ended up here. I bet you are too.
